Exercising every day is not enough.  This is a reality that I’ve had to face in my own journey to a healthier lifestyle.  Nowadays I pay attention to the ingredients that are in the foods I buy at the supermarket.  However, that’s not to say that I don’t slip up once in awhile.<br />

The other day while at the grocery store, I saw that they had Campbell’s chicken noodle soup on sale 2 for $1.  The bargain hunter side of me thought, “Wow, what a great deal!”, so I grabbed a couple cans without a second thought.  However, it was only after I had opened the can of soup that I looked at the ingredients and saw the amount of sodium it contained!  Next time I’m going to use one of these recipes from this <a href="http://www.mydish.co.uk/chicken-recipes" target="_blank">chicken recipes</a> page whenever I start to crave chicken noodle soup again.   </p>
<p>Remember that any type of soup that comes from a can should be analyzed for sodium content.  The majority of canned soups do contain a high amount of sodium.  If you do eat canned soup, you can lower the sodium content by diluting it with water and adding in extra vegetables to reduce the sodium in each serving.  .   </p>
<p>This past year I’ve been paying more attention to the foods I eat and making a conscious effort to eat more organic foods.  I go to Henry’s or Trader Joe’s for organic fruits and vegetables, and I stay away from packaged cookies and junk food.  I’ve also cut down on red meat and now eat fish, organic chicken, or turkey.  </p>

<p>I do think that when you start to affirm that you are indeed losing weight and you <i>believe</i> it, you&#8217;ll begin to take inspired action in order to meet that weight loss goal.<br />

A belief is simply a thought that you repeatedly think.  The more you think thin thoughts, the more you&#8217;ll do the things that healthy, slim people do like eat the right foods and exercise on a regular basis.  </p>
<p>The one thing you do not want to do, which Lilou mentioned in the video, is to become so obsessed with losing weight.  Let it be a natural, fun process.  Don&#8217;t weigh yourself everyday, don&#8217;t stare at yourself in the mirror and start pointing out what you don&#8217;t like about your body, and don&#8217;t be so concerned with counting calories all the time.  </p>
<p>Just set the intention of losing weight and let it go.  Focus on how good you feel right now.  Be grateful for the healthy body you have right now&#8230;</p>

<p>People often find themselves looking for diets to lose weight the healthy way. It almost seems like trying to find a needle in the haystack because every diet promises results but fails to deliver. The ones that do produce results revolve around having to starve and consume less than 700 calories a day.</p>
<p><strong>The Combination</strong></p>
<p>The most successful diet programs are not just built around eating less and calling it a day. In fact, the diets to lose weight the healthy way always are supplemented with a good calorie burning workout program. This could include cardio weight lifting or straight cardio such as running on a treadmill or using an elliptical machine. Either way doing some form of exercise is better than doing nothing. Always remember to keep it in reason. If you have not ran since college don&#8217;t get on a track and think that you are going to run six miles your first time out.<span id="more-79"></span></p>
<p><strong>The Diet</strong></p>
<p>Diets should first be built around your calorie intake and then try to reduce it from that level. The average person will require somewhere between 1800-2000 calories. Although this is always relative this serves as a general base model. You should look to reduce your calories by 300 a day or maybe a little more. This will lead to a pound of weight lost a week. This may not sound like much but it adds up. On top of that following this model will ensure that you don&#8217;t get burnt out in a week but that you are able to keep this routine for months to come if you desire.</p>
<p><strong>Calorie Cutters</strong></p>
<p>There are small changes that you can make in your daily life right now that will lead to immediate numbers change in your daily calorie intake.</p>
<p>- Remove carbonated drinks from your diet</p>
<p>- Drink skim milk instead of while milk</p>
<p>- Take mayonnaise out of your diet and just use mustard</p>
<p>- Stop drinking high carbohydrate beer</p>
<p>- Eat oatmeal at breakfast because it is a fat fighter</p>
<p><strong>In Conclusion</strong></p>
<p>Trying to find diets to lose weight the healthy way are not built around massive eating changes. They are usually built around making small dietary changes that involve removing the high fatty foods and sugars that you consume every day. Doing this coupled with at least 30 minutes of physical exercise a day should help you lose between a pound or two a week. This is most effective because it is a diet that the average person can sustain for the long run.</p>

<p>It has probably become obvious with all the attention placed on healthy living in the past few years that being physically fit can not only improve your quality of living but also extend your life by years. The medical community has conducted studies which have shown that people who participate in fitness workouts with regularity live for longer periods than those individuals who do not. These same studies have shown that even overweight people who participate in physical activity regularly can and will increase their overall longevity, compared to thin people who do not participate in any regulated fitness program.</p>
<p>That being said, we all know that physical fitness is an important element of any person&#8217;s life. When the experts mention &#8220;physical fitness&#8221; they are not just talking about the body alone. While it is true that regular fitness workouts can enable a person to achieve a well-toned body and better health, the phrase &#8220;physical fitness&#8221; also refers to healthy eating, getting plenty of rest, allowing yourself some &#8220;me&#8221; time, and also the obvious exercise routines. On many occasions it has been seen that an obese person who participates regularly in physical workouts will have more stamina throughout the day than a slim person who does not. It is enough to make a person seriously rethink his or her lack of physical activity on a daily basis.<span id="more-70"></span></p>
<p>Fitness workouts are the easiest and best way to increase your stamina, endurance, flexibility, and strength. These workouts can also help you achieve good health and the ability to cope with daily stresses. Physical fitness has a direct effect on the mind and emotions as well. People who are out of shape often deal with stress poorly and are more susceptible to depression, eating disorders, and nervous issues. In fact, the immune system may even be repressed when a person is not physically fit. Because of the high impact that a regular and effective fitness program may have on your entire life, it is worth the extra time and effort to make sure you exercise a little bit each day.</p>
<p>When you plan fitness workouts, you need to be aware that the purpose of the exercise is to exert your muscles in different ways. <p>You need a more compelling reason to stick with your program.   Let’s face it, times get difficult when you’re tired, hungry, depressed or bored and you see the chocolate cake staring back at you screaming your name.</p>
<p>Every cell in your body is telling you to eat the cake and every fiber of your being is trying to sway you from your purpose.   Tell me, at this point, do you have a strong enough reason to prevent you from eating that cake?</p>
<p>Probably not.  The draw of the cake is far stronger than the appeal of the reunion or the size 0 outfit. Let me tell you why&#8230;<span id="more-62"></span></p>
<p>It’s because the cake is right there.   The reality is right there in front of you in plain sight. Everything else&#8230;all of your weight loss goals, the reunion, the outfit, the &#8211; fill in the blank goal &#8211; becomes just a faint whisper in the background by comparison.</p>
<p>Why?   Because you thought you could suppress all of those years of conditioning in one week.  Your body is stronger than you think.    That’s not to say that you can’t lose weight.    You absolutely can.   You just have to work with your body and not against it.</p>
<p>That said, think of a worthwhile purpose to lose the weight if you haven’t done so before.</p>
<p>How are some things to think about:</p>
<li>I want to lose weight because I want to gain a healthy respect for my body.</li>
<li>I want to lose weight because I want to live longer for my family.</li>
<li>I want to lose weight because I want to enjoy life more by doing the things that my weight restricts me from doing.</li>
<li>I want to lose weight because I want to feel great about myself and my appearance.</li>
<li>I want to lose weight because I want to travel and enjoy all that life has to offer me.</li>
<li>I want to lose weight to have the strength and energy I need to enjoy life &#8211; like having the energy to chase my children.</li>
<li>I want to lose weight so that I can be an active participant in my own life and not just a spectator.</li>
<p>Now it’s your turn.   Think of something compelling&#8230;.something deeper than your usual New Year weight loss resolution.   Think of a reason to lose weight that will keep you grounded and anchored to your purpose.   That way the lure of the cake is no match for wanting to watch your loved ones grow up around you.   It won’t even come close.</p>
<p>Take your time and think of something that is truly worthy of you.   By doing this, you will stick to that goal of losing weight.</p>
<p>So why do I think you should lose weight?   I truly believe that you are worth it.   You deserve to have a full and truly wonderful life.</p>

<p>In recent years a great deal of awareness has come about from medical research and the media concerning the dangers of being overweight. In the United States, we have a culture that desires fast food which is due to a busy lifestyle. People believe that they have no time to cook and no time to exercise. It is very common to see families eating out for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner simply because they do not have the time to cook.<br />

However, many people are beginning to realize that being overweight poses great health risks and can even shorten their lives. That is why losing weight is on many people&#8217;s New Year’s list of resolutions. Unfortunately, for many of these people, losing weight is easier said than done.</p>
<p>There are a couple things you can do, however, to ensure that you do keep your resolution to lose weight:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Get help from someone who will keep you accountable.</strong> This can be a family member, a spouse, a friend or even a work colleague. One of the reasons why accountability is important is to prevent you from relapsing into bad habits that have kept you from losing weight in the past.</li>
</ul>
<ul style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">
<li style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"><strong>Enlist the services of a personal trainer or fitness coach</strong>.  A personal trainer does not have to be expensive, but if cost is a concern to you, you can minimize the hours in which you hire a trainer. Personal trainers are very effective in helping you reach your weight loss goals because they also hold you accountable and motivate you to take action.</li>
</ul>
